About the Opportunity
With great hospitality skills and an understanding of how keeping our team members happy and well cared for allows everything to run smoothly, Team Welfare Volunteers will play an important role in the success of Mount Stewart Conversations Festival 2018.

Mount Stewart Conversations Festival, a carnival of sparkling conversation, arts and culture, will return to the shores of Strangford Lough on 1st and 2nd September 2018. This year’s festival will build on the success of two previous events, which featured some of the very best conversationalists from Ian Hislop to Kate Adie, and will offer an unparalleled programme of arts and entertainment. This unmissable weekend festival which celebrates the arts, literature, music and big ideas will centre on the theme of Women in Power in this, the year in which we celebrate 100 years since women were granted the right to vote.

Our Team Welfare Volunteers will ensure that all team members at Mount Stewart Conversations, both staff and volunteers, have a great experience right from the time they arrive on site through assisting at the team registration point at the beginning of the day and helping team members get ready to deliver a brilliant event. Throughout the event, Team Welfare Volunteers will be on hand as a friendly face to welcome team members on breaks back to the Team Hub based in our Education Centre and to keep the tea and biscuits coming! They will keep the Team Hub clean, tidy and a pleasant place to spend time and no doubt will find many other ways that they can contribute to a great team experience!

You will participate in one or two days of the event, depending on your availability. We will schedule time for you to explore the site and enjoy the experience as a visitor – we want you to have a great time too!

If you would like to get involved, we will be holding Information Sessions on Friday 10th August at 10am – 1pm and Saturday 11th August at 10.30am – 1pm. They are the ideal opportunity to find out everything about Mount Stewart Conversations Festival, the different aspects of all the volunteer roles and to ask questions.

Those who go on to volunteer at the event itself must also attend an Induction and Training Session, either on Friday 24th or Saturday 25th August (10am-1pm). You will receive a National Trust t-shirt to wear during your shift/s and we’ll also cover agreed costs of your travel between home and Mount Stewart.
