About the Opportunity
To lead, motivate, coordinate and manage a small fundraising team, organising three pre-arranged collections per year. All funds raised will support Action on Hearing Loss’s vital services and make a life changing difference to deaf and hard of hearing people in your local area and throughout Northern Ireland.

Suggested tasks:
• Help to organise three charity collections per year in your local area
• Attend and coordinate these collections
• Help to recruit volunteers to collect at a sporting event or train/bus station or pack bags in a supermarket
• Keep volunteers motivated and informed during each collection you coordinate by building good relationships with them and creating a fun and friendly atmosphere
• Be an ambassador for the charity in your local area by representing us at events and cheque presentations
• Assist your Regional Fundraising Executive to approach local businesses that may be able to help us to raise funds by displaying a collection tin, sponsoring an event or making a donation for a hamper.

Skills needed:
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships and motivate people to support Action on Hearing Loss
• Knowledge of your local area and a good network of contacts in the area
• The ability to organise and motivate volunteers to attend and engage in collections and bag packs.

Training/learning needed:
Action on Hearing Loss NI offers full, on-going training for all volunteers including a one-day induction programme with optional OCN qualification. ‘On the job’ role specific training will also be done by your volunteer co-ordinator when you start your role.

The level of commitment depends on the individual volunteer. An average bag pack takes about 6 hours and a collection takes approximately 4 hours.

This activity takes place across Northern Ireland however you are likely to be volunteering in your local area.

Support and supervision:
Regular 1:1 support will be given to you by the dedicated Fundraising Executive in your area.
