About the Opportunity
Causeway Coast Special Olympics Club is a multi-sports club that is currently recruiting volunteers to assist with their swimming programme on a Thursday evening from 6pm to 8.30pm in Coleraine Leisure Centre.

A general volunteer role will cover a number of tasks including:
* equipment set up and tear down;
* registration and welcoming athletes and volunteers;
* inducting new volunteers;
* supervision of athletes during activities;
* and serving refreshments.

Volunteers may also be asked to get into the pool to assist athletes from time to time. Therefore, the ideal volunteer will feel comfortable getting into the swimming pool during training sessions.

In return, volunteers can expect to find a warm and welcoming atmosphere in the club. You will also have the opportunity to build new friendships with other volunteers through various events and social outings. You will also gain a great deal of personal satisfaction for working with a very special group of athletes.

Special Olympics Ulster is a sports organisation providing year round sports training and competition to athletes with an intellectual disability. In the Ulster Region, we have 64 community sports clubs, special schools, adult centres and services providing weekly training sessions to over 2000 athletes. All of our clubs are managed by teams of volunteers who give their valuable time to ensure our athletes can grow, develop and perform at regional, national and international events. Special Olympics Ulster is offering you the chance to make a real difference to the lives of our athletes by becoming one of the team.
