Volunteer Driver - Antrim / Ballymena

Distance and Location
bt41(Antrim County Antrim)    Distance: 16.1 miles

About the Opportunity
Enjoy getting out and about and meeting people from all walks of life? Do you drive and have a car of your own?
If you do, you could be an excellent candidate for hitting the road with Guide Dogs.

Driving is a crucial service provided by Guide Dogs’ volunteers across the country.

Guide dog owners may need assistance from a four-wheeled friend with getting to a venue, or equipment may need transporting to an event.

All you need to help is an ordinary driving license with the use of your own vehicle, and be happy to carry dogs in your car. We pay the mileage and provide the company! We’re not asking for lots of your time – by giving just a few hours a week you'll be making a real difference by helping Guide Dogs enable people who are blind or partially sighted to enjoy the same freedom of movement as everyone else.

What support or training will I get?
•Volunteer Welcome Session;
•Induction to Guide Dogs;
•Sighted Guide Training;
•Role Specific Training;
•Regular and ongoing advice and support from Guide Dogs;
•Payment of out of pocket expenses agreed in advance.

Currently have a vacancy for a volunteer driver in the Antrim/Ballymena area.

So if you live in this area and are interested in the role please get in touch with Alison Rankin on 0845 3727 402, email alison.rankin@guidedogs.org.uk or click 'register now' below.

Every hour, another person in the UK goes blind. When someone loses their sight, the charity Guide Dogs is here to make sure they don’t lose their freedom as well.
